Every hit from damage over time abilities and area of effect damage (including abilities and chinchompas) will grant adrenaline separately, leading to faster adrenaline build. This is especially noticeable when using Corruption Shot or Corruption Blast on a group of monsters. This aura will also work in PvP situations.
