no. though it can destroy a spell or trap, that spell or traps effect is still activated as mystical space typhoon has not negated it. destroying a spell or trap (that is not continuos) does not negate its effect (exceptions like swords of revealing light). u can negate them with cards like seven tools of the bandit of spell shield type 8
