Madawaska is a town located in Aroostook County in Northern Maine opposite Edmundston, New Brunswick on the US-Canadian border. The town had a population of 4,035 as of the 2010 US Census. the town is the northernmost town in New England, located at 47 degrees 18' 25.87" north latitude. The populaton of the town is made up of 80% Acadians that speak French as their mother tongue.
