Mifune is a small town located in the center of Kumamoto Prefecture with a population of about 18,000 people. It is situated in Kamimashiki-gun and is approximately 30-40 minutes drive to the center of Kumamoto city. Smaller towns are situated close by - Yabe: 45 minutes, Mashiki: 20 minutes, Kousa: 5 minutes. There are two JET placements in this town.
