"Fort Brydon Source" is a musical theme composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith for The Mummy. It appears as track twelve on disc two of the film's soundtrack, at 1:15 in length. The theme, a traditional Egyptian folk song played on three traditional Egyptian musical instruments; the rababah (spike fiddle with horsehair strings), mizmar (Egyptian oboe), and tabl baladi (double-membrane drum), is used as diegetic music in the scene set in Cairo's bar in Fort Brydon, played in the background. The original song, entitled "Al Nahla Al ‘Ali", or “The Tall Palm Tree” was composed by Metqal Qemawi Metqal and Yunis Al Hilali.
