The unnamed Office Girl worked for Mike Baldwin at Baldwin's Casuals and he sent her to the Rovers with a note for Hilda Ogden as he knew she would be cleaning there in the mornings. Hilda asked what the note contained but the girl replied that she only worked for him and he didn't take her into his confidence. The note contained the key to 5 Coronation Street which Mike owned and where Bet Lynch had been employed as his "housekeeper". After falling out with Mike after discovering that he had a common-law wife, Anne Woodley, Bet refused to move out of the house and Mike instructed Hilda to clean it as part of his war of nerves with Bet.
