The Bingo Checker verified the numbers after a line or house call at a session attended by Hilda and Stan Ogden, Ivy Tilsley and Vera Duckworth one night in April 1980. Hilda had read good fortune in Stan’s tea leaves and hearing from Vera and Ivy that there was a rollover on the jackpot to £1,000 she dragged him there. Stan walked half way through and went to the British Legion.
