Staff of smiting is a very rare type of weapon in ADOM. Like a quicksilver quarterstaff, staff of the magi or staff of power, a staff of smiting is a separate type of item from other staves with generic prefixes or suffixes. A staff of smiting has base stats of (+4, 1d37+2), though both to-hit and damage can be slightly higher or lower for individual staves. Unidentified staves of smiting can be distinguished from regular quarterstaves by their unusual weight.
