Daran IX was a planet, the ninth planet in orbit of the Daran star system in Federation space, in sector 54R at coordinates -127.5,-139.2,-19.7 (or 3.88S 4.93E) in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant. A nondescript giant planet with a ring system, Daran IX had 36 moons and was not known to have any major inhabitation by humanoid lifeforms.
