Astelni was the wife of Dalanor and the mother of Maia. Living in the northern kingdom of fallen Arnor of the Third Age, Astelni served as one of the Dúnedain Rangers that guarded the borders of the Shire and other places in the north. After deciding to retire and marry her husband, she gave birth to a daughter and spent most of her time with her family. When Sauron was refueling his strength in Dol Guldur, her village was raided by Orcs that were sent by their dark master to find the Ring of Barahir and eliminating the line of Isildur Elendilion. Astelni fought to defend the villagers, but was slain by sheer number of orcs, alongside her husband while their daughter Maia managed to escape.
