Due to her size and coloration, it is believed that Clover (along with Crimson and Pancho) is supposed to be a Crowned Lemur (Eulemur coronatus). However, only male crowned lemurs are orange and black. Female crowned lemurs are silvery-grey and white, with a small, V-shaped orange "crown" on their foreheads. * This makes Clover yet another inaccurately-gendered lemur within the Madagascar franchise
