Daniels was the alias of an agent in the Temporal Cold War claiming to be from the 31st century encountered by various people throughout history. Working under the alias Winston Daniels, he was a professor at Project Timepiece in 2268. While there, he discovered a gigantic version of the Guardian Of Forever. In an alternate timeline, the crew of the USS Farragut used this gateway to travel to 2254 to prevent the destruction of the USS Enterprise and restore the timeline.
