Loraine was Mantid's wife. She died during a war with the Invectids, this, among other things led to Mantid's insanity and hatred for the Inner World. When Mantid finally explained to the Oracle of his loss, the Oracle wept and used her power to restore him and Loraine, the pair were then sent to the surface world and reunited at last.
