These redone platforms had much more cargo space avaailable to them than XQ1s. They also were slightly better armed. Each still had six turbolaser batteries and six laser cannons, but XQ2 platforms also had two more batteries of laser cannons on top of the storage bay. They still carried three starfighter squadrons. These were installed for heavier than normal commerce and military research.
