Lal Mia was a postman in the first season of Sisimpur. When the actor who played Lal died, the character died on the show as well, as in the case of Mr. Hooper on the American Sesame Street. At least according to the transcript of two children watching the show, included in the report Sisimpur; Sesame Street in Bangladesh: Children's Perspectives and Development, the character is said to have been riding a bicycle, and a truck struck and killed him.
