The Aalagar are an isolated race of Bith indigenous to a remote island chain on the Bith homeworld of Clak'dor VII. They use a system of knotting ropes called the strings of ancestors as a system to record genealogies, although eventually this system evolved into their primary recording system. It was one of these knots that formed the tassels that led to Jacen Solo's fall to the Dark Side.
