Chief Xcel (b. Xavier Mosley, 1973, Sacramento, California) is one-half of the alternative hip-hop duo Blackalicious, and a member of Quannum Projects (along with Blackalicious Partner Gift of Gab, DJ Shadow, Lyrics Born and Lateef of Latryx). Chief Xcel and Lateef teamed up to record under the Maroons moniker. In 2004, they released The Maroons: Ambush on the Quannum Projects label. He also provided a remix for 'World Wide Remix' for Fatboy Slim's Wonderful Night, the second single off the 2004 Palookaville LP.
