Doctor Steinberg was a female Human instructor at Starfleet Academy in the 24th century. In 2341, she commanded half of an away team of cadets to an Umiiga space station. She served as the chief medical officer for the USS Republic on this mission. She was accidentally shot by an over zealous Glen Majors.
