Murtagh's sword was a hand-and-a-half sword with a leather-wrapped hilt. He dropped it when he took Zar'roc from Eragon in Eldest. The sword was taken by Eragon as a substitute, but was never used. This is in part due to the Curse of the Named Blade, which states that a great swordsman will indelibly be associated with the particular named sword they use. It is unknown what happened to it after Eragon left Alagaësia.
