Not much is known about them, but it is known that they give Rayman his special powers, and according to the lore, he is the only one to be given their power. In Rayman 2, Rayman lost his powers after being captured by the Robo-Pirates and must regain them by either directly receiving Silver Lums from Ly or indirectly through Globox at certain points during the game. In Rayman 3 (GBA), Silver Lums give Rayman an extra life.
