At the more expensive end of the spectrum is the Himawara Luxury Hotel Apartments. It is located right on the Mekong River where it joins the Tonle Sap River, and you can watch boats go to and fro. They have a very fine outdoor swimming pool that is likely the best in the city. The restaurant is quite good, and the rooms have refrigerators and a small kitchen with dishes and silverware. You can cool your room to your liking. One can easily walk down the main drag and be in the heart of riverfront Phnom Penh, which is full of restaurants and bars and the famous Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC), a super great place to have a drink, a bite to eat, or just a coffee as you read the local paper.
