About the size of a house cat, a mollox is furry and bulky, with large yellow eyes and two horns on the tops of its head. It is usually docile, and a herbivore. A mollox was brought to the Old City Sanctuary shortly after the discovery of Hollow Earth. Henry Foss nicknamed it "Skippy". However, the creature had become host to a pinepex, a parasite that used stronger beings to defend itself by injecting them with a pheromone that made them protect it. This made Skippy very aggressive.
