The "Fifty-One-Fifty" Building is a nickname for a six-story bank building located on Hill Street in Chinatown, Los Angeles, several blocks from the Parker Center, where the LAPD's Behavioral Sciences Section is housed. In April of 1994, LAPD detective Harry Bosch was ordered to visit with Dr. Carmen Hinojos at her office in the building. The nickname is derived from the California Welfare and Institutions Code for "involuntary psychiatric hold," 51-50.
