The ship gymnasium was an area aboard a starship where the crew could work out and do physical exercise. Smaller vessels did not have a gym. The Star Knight-class heavy cruiser carried a ship's gym, and Captain Honor Harrington preferred to use it late at night, when no one else was around. (HH2)
