The single most populous city in the Kingdom of Pitcairn, Adamstown was founded in the location where the original Bounty mutineers landed. Since that time the city has developed significantly and is home to the Royal Pitkern Palace—an important cultural icon in the Kingdom of Pitcairn. The city also contains a burgeoning commercial sector and includes many popular public establishments such as the Pitkern National Museum.
