Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development, more commonly known as Nintendo EAD, is Nintendo's largest division, with about 400 employees. It is considered the core of the company, and is responsible for the creation of some of its biggest games. In 2004, Nintendo EAD underwent a major restructuring after Nintendo Research & Development members were assigned to the division, which led to the division's current form.
