Vien was an Andermani citizen and an officer of the Imperial Andermani Navy. Holding the rank of Kapitän der Sterne, he was in command of the heavy cruiser IANS Eule. After his ship was heavily damaged in what appeared to be an attack by the Royal Manticoran Navy, he angrily demanded consequences when reporting back to Großadmiral von Rabenstrange. (HHA5.2: AAoW)
