The company was founded in March 1958 when the two airlines Japan Helicopter and Aeroplane and Far Eastern Airlines merged. Subsidiaries of All Nippon Airways include the freight carrier Allex Cargo, the regional airline ANA Wings, the charter carrier Air Japan, the low-cost domestic airline Air Do and the low-cost international airline Vanilla Air. All Nippon Airways is the largest shareholder in the low-cost international airline Peach.
