Carthage was a city built by princess Dido, who made Carthage a stronghold and wealthy city. Carthage became independent a year later. Carthage started to have their own emperor and empire. Emperor Hannibal was chosen and had war on Rome. They lost many battles, and in the end, conquered by Alexander the Great.
