Animals really need water, carnivores need Meat,or Dinosaur meat, or some omnivores or herbivores need Durians,Durians are breakable items. The food dish with water does not come with a expansion pack as it is in every expansion + the full or not full game. Also, about no water for about 2-3 months in-game time can de-hydrate the animal due to no water, feeding an animal when it needs water is not necessary, due to graphics settings if you change them, the water dish looks like a hexagon with a blue spot in it, but remember this setting is the "Best Preformance" setting. Also, watch out for putting animals in wrong climates, due to dehydration, it may happen faster if in the wrong biome.
