Padre Esteban was a Spanish-speaking preacher resident of Guayama. Before even talking to Ben and Ned, he perceived that they could communicate, as well as their names. Esteban's tribe assisted with supplies and provisions for the La Petite Marie; in return Captain Raphael Thuron provided his people with nails and canvas. Esteban also gave Ben his cross for protection.
