The Underbarrel Smoke Launcher is a weapon attachment in PlanetSide 2. The grenade produces a wide, thin smokescreen upon impact that is capable of providing visual cover for a short period of time. The added weight of the grenade launcher increases the equip time of the attached weapon. Hitting an infantry soldier directly with the projectile will damage them significantly. The blast of the smoke grenade does not deal damage. Launched grenades require a split second to arm, and will not detonate if they hit a target too close or too soon.
