A Synod is a meeting of several high-ranking Sabbat authorities to clarify an interpretation of the sect's doctrine, in order to avoid exploitations by heretics and infernalists At a synod, significant changes to Sabbat doctrine can occur: additions or alterations to the Auctoritas Ritae, Blood Baths for members of the Consistory, or the founding of a Black Cathedral. Synods are called on rare occasion to solve a major internal issue or clarify the Sect’s religious beliefs.
