Land Battles typically trigger when Palutena or Viridi disable the Power of Flight before it can cause major damage to Pit. Though his attacks become weaker than they are in Air Battle, the player is given freedom to roam the terrain for however long they desire. In addition, the player is now able to dash freely and use powers as they see fit.
