There is no singular boot loader that is used for Linux. On PC systems, GRUB is the most commonly used. However, others, such as SYSLINUX, ISOLINUX, and ELILO are also commonly used by boot CDs, bootable Flash drives, and systems that do not use a traditional PC BIOS. On other platforms, another bootloader such as yaboot, U-Boot, or SILO must be used.
