When Boomerang relaunched on January 19, 2015, many viewers and fans of the channel were dissapointed with the new look and program format, thus lowering the ratings of the channel significantly, giving Boomerang only 9 million households left. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had announced that it would remove the mainstream Boomerang channel from television broadcast, but at a meeting with the Turner Broadcasting System on November 2, 2015, Turner expressed concern that shutting down the channel would mean the overcrowding of content when the programs moved to Cartoon Network.
