Alan Eppes is the husband of the late Margaret Eppes and father of the two main characters, Don and Charlie Eppes. He is played by Judd Hirsch, who actually has a College Degree in Physics. The actor is known for his work on Taxi (1978), Independence Day (1996), and Damages (2012).
