__WIKIA_BANNER__ The Sting of the Scorpion is the 58th book in The Hardy Boys series. It was first published in 1979 by Grosset & Dunlap. For many years this was the last title published by Grosset & Dunlap, and as such many people consider it the final story in the original series, even though the Stratemeyer Syndicate wrote volumes 59-83 (and #59 Night Of The Werewolf is mentioned in the first four printings of Sting Of The Scorpion), and Simon & Schuster added Volumes 84-190; in 2005 Grosset & Dunlap added Volumes 59-66 to the series, hence no longer making this the last Hardy Boys book by Grosset & Dunlap.
