Leonid Kulik was a Russian mineralogist who charted an expedition to investigate the site of the Tunguska Event in 1920. They were never seen again after an intensive search. However, only a camera and a torn page from a journal belonging to Kulik was discovered near the village of Vanavara, which his last written entry described that he and his party intended on leaving the Tunguska region as soon as possible. It is believed that Kulik and his party fell victim to the Chimera.
