The Luyten System was one of the first unfortunate casualties of the fall of Earth. The frontline in a cold war between Poland and Yugoslavia, the two sides fed colonists to the only planet of Luyten until it teetered on the brink of civil war. Secret nuclear deals ensured that as soon as UN mandate wasn't worth the paper it was printed on the planet would blow itself to smithereens. Exactly this happened, and the FTO has since found itself in the precarious position between fighting the surviving factions and offering them peace deals.
