When Dack was a Jedi Knight, he was sent to Tatooine to negotiate with a Hutt on release of a captured Jedi. The Hutt lied to Dack, telling him that he agreed with him, but instead launched Dack into a Rancor pit. Dack fooled the Rancor by camouflaging himself with the Force and then used the Force Beast Trick power on the Rancor to get it to brake open the pit. The Hutt finally let the enslaved Jedi go free, but he warned Dack that if he were to ever return to Tatooine that he would kill him.
