Rhen Var Ice Plains is one of the two combined arms maps (the other being the Battle of Ryloth) introduced in 1.2. Unlike Ryloth, Rhen Var Ice Plains does not feature air vehicles. The battle is fought entirely by ground units - artillery, armour, walkers, and mechanized infantry. The high mountains and scattered ruins of the map can be used by infantry looking to set up ambushes, and the vast expanses of icy plains are great for tank combat.
