Network Status Management (NSM) is a new category of software solutions that help mature, next generation mobile carriers to directly address their radio access network (RAN) cost issues. NSM technologies combine the capabilities of traditional radio access engineering techniques with advances in automation and workflow management, allowing OSS-like coordination and consistency to be pushed into the radio sub-system for the first time. Actix Ltd. coined the NSM term in February 2008 with the launch of its Network Status Management product suite during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
