The 9mm Cugir RATMIL submachine gun is a more or less modern weapon, manufactured by the Romanian company Uzina Mecanica Cugir SA. It is apparently in use in Romania, and is offered for export. Cugir submachine gun is a simple blowback weapon, firing from closed bolt in full automatic and semi-auto. It features a stamped steel, full size AK receiver and short 7.1 inch barrel with a slotted cooling jacket and muzzle compensator at the front. The manual safety / fire mode selector is the same as the Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle. Weapon is fitted with side-folding metallic buttstock and a polymer furniture (pistol grip and short forend).
