PC Harper, accompanied by WPC Jones, arrested Curly Watts in Coronation Street as he staggered home drunk and singing from his stag night in December 2000. They locked him in a cell at Weatherfield Police Station, despite his protest but turned up after a short time to tell him that they were letting him go as the Chief Constable had heard he was a Freshco manager and was a big fan of their Cumberland Ring! As Curly listened incredulously, his fiancée, Emma Taylor turned up in the cell and he realised he’d been set up by his policewoman girlfriend as a stag night joke.
