Replacing the role of Mrs. Steve on the show in seasons 2-5, Mrs. Rene was much more friendly and personable. The Christmas special reveals that she is Jewish and celebrates Hanukkah, but is very tolerant of Pee-wee's beliefs as she says "Merry Christmas!" to Pee-wee before he leaves with Santa.
