Dunfermline is a town in Fife, Scotland, with a population of 40,000. In recent years, due to rising house prices in Edinburgh, Dunfermline has seen a growth in the need for housing and so an expansion eastwards is occuring with the housing developments of Masterton, Carnegie Fields and Duloch Park.
