A vyzard is an orange-masked wyzard of the Illicatishmen with origins among the Mohaskians, who spread the practice to Oporos and Pyanjen, and then to Seylenn. Young vyzards were chosen from minor noble houses or very rarely from orphanages. They were scholars, not priests (though they are both in Seylenn), and took knowledge and therefore power into their hands. To join the Order of Orange Vyzards one was to forswear all carnal vices wholesale: gluttony, lust, and sloth. Their orange masks symbolized their connection to humanity, and this Earth rather than to the gods. Vyzards would ride on the backs of sandworms, dwarf elephants, and hyenadons, whom they purportedly shared a mental connection with. They wore blachorns, and antlers, as well as white fangs attached to the mask.
