The San Francisco Fire Department, also known as the SFFD, is the fire department of the City and County of San Francisco, California. It was founded in 1866. In 2255, in an alternate reality, the SFFD responded to an emergency on the Starfleet Academy campus when Cadet Pavel Chekov became locked in his room and was nearly drowned by the sprinkler system. The firefighters arrived too late to be of assistance, since Chekov had already overriden and opened his door with the help of his neighbor, Cadet Alex Leigh.
