Kay was born on Tatooine. His parents were merchants at Mos Eisley. He was raised without any notion of being Force-sensitive. His family life was pleasant and enjoyed the company of both parents. His parents were killed in an alleged 'speeder accident' but Kay believes that the Empire was at hand.
